Fun fact of the day: I’ve moved out of four homes in three cities over the past year.
This logistical difficulty centered around accepting a 10-month fellowship at Columbia University, but that amazingly enriching experience was well worth schlepping 40-lb. boxes down the sidewalks of Boston, San Francisco, and New York. Besides, I love exploring different neighborhoods and discovering quirks about each new apartment that I get to call home, even if only for a month.
Last week I moved from Manhattan’s Upper West Side to a San Francisco neighborhood where I flew kites as a child yet never had the chance to live in — until now. I hope to stay here for a long time. I’m still unpacking, but I’ve already found my kites and put them by the front door.
May 2009: Finished exploring Boston.
June 2009: Moved back to San Francisco for the summer.
August 2009: Made New York my new home for the coming year.
