Spotted on a San Francisco sidewalk in front of a house. I fell far behind my friends walking to lunch because I stopped to photograph this splendid koi that looked like it jumped out of a puddle.

Street art surprises and delights me more than gallery art — perhaps because it looks different every time I pass by. Unpredictably lit, splashed, and surrounded by the forces of nature and the echoes of fellow man.
